Not only is the BCM a household name in Germany but their perfect ensemble has brought them high acclaim in concert tours throughout the world, as well, and has placed them among the first rank of international orchestras. Even though their name may suggest otherwise, the repertoire and musical intelligence of the BCM ranges from works by Monteverdi and Händel to those of contemporary composers. But perhaps above all the BCM is renowned for giving a special Southern German flair to the works of Mozart, the home region of the BCM and the very region in which Mozart himself lived and composed.

The audience after a performance of the BCM are always left with the feeling that the orchestra are deeply involved in the music and with a sense of conviction from the easy-to-follow clear musical structure and line. In the year 2000 the Bach Collegium München was the official musical ambassador of Germany at the European Music Festival EUROPAMUSICALE 2000 under the patronage of the President of the European Union.
